Baxi boiler installation in Liverpool
Baxi was established in Preston, Lancashire over 160 years ago, and the company still builds boilers at that Preston factory. We fit three Baxi lines across Merseyside: the Baxi 200 combi at £2,000 fitted, the Baxi 400 Heat regular at £2,150, and the Baxi MainEco Compact at £2,100 as a combi or £2,250 as a heat only. Each price covers the boiler, the installation and the paperwork.
The Baxi boilers we install
Baxi is a large range, and we do not pretend to fit all of it. Three lines cover almost every Merseyside job that comes our way. The Baxi 200 is the entry-level combi at £2,000 fitted. The Baxi 400 Heat is a regular, or heat only, boiler at £2,150 fitted, for homes keeping a hot water cylinder and a feed tank in the loft. The Baxi MainEco Compact comes as a combi at £2,100 or a heat only at £2,250. If your survey points towards a Baxi 600 or 800, or towards a different brand entirely, we will say so. We are also a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer, so the recommendation is not tied to one manufacturer.
Baxi 200 combi, £2,000 fitted
The Baxi 200 is the budget end of the Baxi range, and the warranty reflects that. Baxi lists a two year parts and labour warranty on the 200, against five on the 400 and ten on the 800. It is a straightforward, compact combi, and at £2,000 fitted it is the cheapest way onto a current Baxi boiler. We are open about the trade-off. If you plan to stay in the house for a decade, the extra spend on a longer warranty is usually the better call, and we will price both so you can compare. If the budget is fixed, the 200 is a sound, current-generation boiler rather than a compromise on safety or efficiency.
Baxi 400 Heat, £2,150 fitted
The Baxi 400 Heat is a regular boiler, sometimes called heat only or conventional. It works with a hot water cylinder and, on most older Liverpool systems, a feed and expansion tank in the loft. That makes it the natural swap for a tired back boiler or an ageing floor-standing unit where you want to keep the cylinder and the existing pipework. Baxi gives the 400 range a five year parts and labour warranty. The 400 Heat takes a top or rear flue, which matters in terraces and flats where the flue run is awkward, and it measures 370mm wide by 625mm high by 270mm deep, so it drops into a cupboard. It also pairs with a Megaflo Eco cylinder if you are upgrading to unvented hot water.
Baxi MainEco Compact, the renamed Main
If you have been quoted a Main Eco Compact, this is the same boiler. Baxi has renamed the Main range, and it now appears on baxi.co.uk as the Baxi MainEco Compact. The specifications below come from Baxi's current product pages. The combi is £2,100 fitted and comes in 25kW and 30kW outputs, with a stainless steel heat exchanger, brass hydraulics and a front-facing pressure gauge. It measures 390mm wide by 700mm high by 285mm deep and works with the Baxi OpenTherm RF thermostat. The heat only version is £2,250 fitted and comes in 15kW, 18kW, 24kW and 30kW, at 17.4kg installer lift weight and 370 by 625 by 270mm. Both carry a five year parts and labour warranty, the same length as the Baxi 400.
Baxi warranties and what keeps them valid
Baxi's warranty lengths are conditional, and the conditions catch people out. Baxi requires the warranty to be registered within 30 days of installation, the Benchmark checklist to be completed by the installer, and an annual service to be carried out. Miss any of those and, in Baxi's own words, the warranty reverts to the standard one year. On the Baxi 800 there is a further condition: the magnetic filter has to be fitted and maintained for the length of the warranty, or the ten years drops to two. We handle registration for you on the day, through warranty.baxi.co.uk or Baxi Works, and we complete the Benchmark checklist before we leave. The annual service is then yours to keep on top of, and we will remind you when it is due.
What Baxi is known for
Baxi was established in Preston, Lancashire over 160 years ago and still runs a factory there. The Baxi 400 Combi 2.1 is built on that site. For a heating engineer, the appeal is practical rather than glamorous. Parts are widely stocked, so a breakdown rarely means waiting days for a component to reach Merseyside. The cases are compact and light, which matters when a boiler has to go into a first-floor cupboard on a narrow staircase. And the range is wide enough to cover a one-bedroom flat and a four-bedroom semi without changing brand. In our own quoting, Baxi usually comes in below Worcester Bosch and Vaillant at the same output, which is why it does so much of the work at the value end of a quote.
How a Baxi installation runs with us
We are Gas Safe registered under 541116 and a Which? Trusted Trader, with more than 30 years of heating work across Merseyside behind us. A Baxi job starts with a survey rather than a phone quote, because the flue route, the gas supply and the state of the existing pipework decide which of the three boilers actually suits the house. A straight swap is usually a one-day job. We fit, commission, complete the Benchmark checklist, register the Baxi warranty and take the old boiler away. You get the paperwork before we leave. If you are anywhere in Merseyside, call 0151 440 2000 and we will book a survey. Our base is Level One, Basecamp Liverpool, 49 Jamaica Street, Liverpool, L1 0AH.
Spreading the cost
You do not have to pay for a new boiler all at once. Finance is available through Novuna Personal Finance, subject to status and a credit check, with a minimum 20% deposit and a 14-day cooling-off period. The available terms, APRs and full representative examples are set out on our finance page, and we will run the figures for your quote before you commit.
Common questions
How long is the warranty on a Baxi 200?
Two years parts and labour. Baxi states this on both its boiler warranty information page and its warranty FAQ. Some comparison sites list three years for the 200, but Baxi's own figure is two. To hold it, the boiler has to be registered within 30 days, the Benchmark checklist completed and an annual service carried out, otherwise it reverts to one year.
Is the Baxi MainEco Compact the same as the Main Eco Compact?
Yes. Baxi has renamed the Main range, and the boiler now appears on baxi.co.uk as the Baxi MainEco Compact, in combi, system and heat only versions. If an older quote or a manual refers to a Main Eco Compact, it is the same product line under the Baxi badge.
What do I have to do to keep my Baxi warranty valid?
Three things. The warranty has to be registered within 30 days of installation, the Benchmark checklist has to be completed by the installer, and the boiler has to be serviced annually. If any of those is missed, Baxi reverts the warranty to the standard one year. We do the registration and the Benchmark checklist on the day of the fit, so only the annual service is left to you.
How much is a Baxi boiler fitted in Liverpool?
The Baxi 200 combi is £2,000 fitted, the Baxi 400 Heat regular boiler is £2,150 fitted, and the Baxi MainEco Compact is £2,100 as a combi or £2,250 as a heat only. Those prices include the boiler, the installation and the certification. A survey confirms the price before any work starts.
Is it worth paying more for a longer Baxi warranty?
Often, yes. The gap between the Baxi 200 at £2,000 with two years and the MainEco Compact combi at £2,100 with five years is £300 for three extra years of parts and labour cover. If you expect to stay in the property, that usually pays for itself. If you are selling within a year or two, the 200 may make more sense. We quote both.
Are Baxi boilers made in the UK?
Baxi was established in Preston, Lancashire over 160 years ago and still operates a factory there. Baxi states that the 400 Combi 2.1 is made in the UK at that Preston site. Not every model in the range is built there, so if UK manufacture matters to you, ask us and we will check the specific model before you order.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. Finance is available through Novuna Personal Finance, subject to status and a credit check, with a minimum 20% deposit and a 14-day cooling-off period. You will find the terms, APRs and representative examples on our finance page, and we can talk the monthly figures through against your actual quote.
